Rapid Review: Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

Hi Loves!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. I would like to introduce a new segment to our community. I am calling the series Rapid Review.  My goal is for this format to provide you with information on the product in a straightforward manner. Hopefully, this will allow you to make informed decisions on whether or not you would like to try the product.

The first item I would like to review is the Origins Active Charcoal Mask. Have you tried this mask? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Origins Active Charcoal Mask

  1. Price– $17.00 for 1.7 fluid ounces (Sephora.com)
  2. Use– An activated charcoal mask that draws out impurities in clogged pores.
  3. Product Claims-(according to Sephora) -When environmental toxins, dirt, and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, and skin looks cloudy. Nature’s complexion clean-up crew gets to the bottom of skin’s overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. What it is formulated WITHOUT:
    – Parabens
    – Sulfates
    – Phthalates

4. My Thoughts– I think this is a great mask. It leaves my skin feeling clean without leaving it striped. I would recommend this to anyone that has large pores or oily skin and is looking for an inexpensive yet effective mask.

My At Home Facial Routine (Oily, Acne-Prone Skin)

Now that I am in my thirties, I find myself obsessed with skin care. I think this is partly because I am getting older and would prefer to get ahead of premature aging. I’ve had adult acne in the past however I have found a weekly routine that has works really well for me. Below are the steps that I take to care for my skin at home.

  1. Cleanse. Gently wash face with Clinique’s Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam.
  2. Exfoliate. Click HERE for my diy face scrub.
  3. Steam. Wet face cloth with hot water. Wring out the excess water. Place cloth over face. Repeat this 2-3 times. This opens your pores in preparation for the next step.
  4. Apply mask. I am currently using the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. I usually rinse this out in the shower.
  5. Tone. I use the Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion on a cotton round.
  6. Apply eye cream. I am not particular to any eye serums/creams. I typically use any sample sized creams I have available.
  7. Apply serum. I am currently using the Ole Henrikson Truth Serum.
  8. Moisturize. I am currently using the Clinique Acne Solutions All Over Clearing Treatment.
  9. Apply lip moisturizer. Lastly, I apply my lip moisturizer.
