Fall is finally here but you wouldn’t be able to tell by the weather we are experiencing in LA. So what is a girl that is obsessed with fall fashion to do? You break out your transitional pieces. I would love to put on chunky sweaters and boots however I’ll have to settle for maxi dresses, hats, and open-toed booties. Pieces like these are perfect for those warm fall days and can be layered with a faux leather jacket on chilly nights. Traditional fall colors such as burgundy helps to add to that fall feeling.

The floral trend took on a tropical twist for the summer. And I must say that I am here for it! I loved the way Kristine (of TrendyCurvy) styled this top in one of her posts. Although I liked it, I didn’t have any thoughts of making a purchase. That changed when I found it on sale during a rare visit to Old Navy. And since I am enjoying the trend so much I thought I would try my hand at styling a tropical piece. As an alternative approach to Kristine’s I decided to keep things really simple by pairing the top with some basics from my closet.

I apologize for the awkward poses. ¬†It’s been a while since I’ve done a fashion post. That should be changing soon. ūüôā ¬†You may also be able to tell that there was a slight breeze on the day that I took these pictures. I didn’t mind though. It added to the ambiance. I just pretended as if I was shooting on a tropical island. Lol! What are some of your favorite summer ’17 trends?

There is a huge misconception that prints are¬†not polished enough for the office. All over America, offices are filled with individuals¬†outfitted in neutral colored solids. Now don’t get me wrong- I love neutrals! However¬†in the sea of gray and black attire, prints help you to stand apart. I am a huge believer that workwear does not have to be boring. Sure, maintaining¬†a professional appearance can be a little limiting but it isn’t impossible. Pairing prints with solid, classic pieces is an easy way to create a professional yet stylish look.

The printed pants in this outfit is an example of how I would wear prints to the office. I paired it with a black top however virtually any color would work. A solid top allows the pants to be the star of the show while balancing out the outfit. I love how versatile these pants are. The classic color combination allows for an infinite amount of styling options. It looks great with black, monochrome or bright shoes.

Day to Night

I can tell you how I feel about you night and day……. ūüé∂ How many of you remember the song I’m referring to? I would tell you which decade it is from but that would really show my age. ūüėú

Speaking of age- they say with age comes wisdom. Well wisdom has taught me the importance of having  keys items in your wardrobe. Pieces such as t-shirts, blazers, black pumps, a good pair of jeans and a LBD (little black dress) are the building blocks for any wardrobe. Their versatility can take you from day to night. I am quite a frugalnista however I now spend a little more on these items because of the amount of use you get of them.

The outfit below is an example of how a staple piece (in this case a blazer) can take you from day to night. What are some of your staple wardrobe items?

Festival Season

Hi Everyone!

Festival season is here! Coachella is the place to be for us west coasters¬†(similar to Woodstock in the east). I’ve become a little bit of a hippie since moving to California. Therefore this sort of stuff is right up my alley. ¬†Although I am unable to attend Coachella this year, I wanted to create a few outfits to serve as inspiration for those of you that will be attending.¬†Let me know which one is your favorite. Peace and love. ūüôā

The outfit below¬†is ideal for art festivals, shopping, or hanging out with friends. It is very¬†representative of the iconic flower child.¬†Wouldn’t you agree?

Coachella Bella

This outfit is perfect for attending a music show. It is comfortable and practical. This dreamcatcher has all of her festival gear in tow. She can even sit on her cardigan if she needs to. Groovy!

This final outfit is perfect for brunch, laying out by the pool or just relaxing. The embroidered romper is great for the warm spring/summer days.¬†The sunglasses are a nod to the 70’s festival culture. And the gladiator sandals, well they are just chic.
