There is a huge misconception that prints are not polished enough for the office. All over America, offices are filled with individuals outfitted in neutral colored solids. Now don’t get me wrong- I love neutrals! However in the sea of gray and black attire, prints help you to stand apart. I am a huge believer that workwear does not have to be boring. Sure, maintaining a professional appearance can be a little limiting but it isn’t impossible. Pairing prints with solid, classic pieces is an easy way to create a professional yet stylish look.

The printed pants in this outfit is an example of how I would wear prints to the office. I paired it with a black top however virtually any color would work. A solid top allows the pants to be the star of the show while balancing out the outfit. I love how versatile these pants are. The classic color combination allows for an infinite amount of styling options. It looks great with black, monochrome or bright shoes.

Day to Night

I can tell you how I feel about you night and day……. 🎶 How many of you remember the song I’m referring to? I would tell you which decade it is from but that would really show my age. 😜

Speaking of age- they say with age comes wisdom. Well wisdom has taught me the importance of having  keys items in your wardrobe. Pieces such as t-shirts, blazers, black pumps, a good pair of jeans and a LBD (little black dress) are the building blocks for any wardrobe. Their versatility can take you from day to night. I am quite a frugalnista however I now spend a little more on these items because of the amount of use you get of them.

The outfit below is an example of how a staple piece (in this case a blazer) can take you from day to night. What are some of your staple wardrobe items?

Festival Season

Hi Everyone!

Festival season is here! Coachella is the place to be for us west coasters (similar to Woodstock in the east). I’ve become a little bit of a hippie since moving to California. Therefore this sort of stuff is right up my alley.  Although I am unable to attend Coachella this year, I wanted to create a few outfits to serve as inspiration for those of you that will be attending. Let me know which one is your favorite. Peace and love. 🙂

The outfit below is ideal for art festivals, shopping, or hanging out with friends. It is very representative of the iconic flower child. Wouldn’t you agree?

Coachella Bella

This outfit is perfect for attending a music show. It is comfortable and practical. This dreamcatcher has all of her festival gear in tow. She can even sit on her cardigan if she needs to. Groovy!

This final outfit is perfect for brunch, laying out by the pool or just relaxing. The embroidered romper is great for the warm spring/summer days. The sunglasses are a nod to the 70’s festival culture. And the gladiator sandals, well they are just chic.
