Five Favorites | Moments With Millie

While I was away, I discovered (and rediscovered) so many wonderful items. Although it’s been a few months, I wanted to share some of those items with you. I will be doing a separate post on my  favorite beauty items. If you know me, then you know I can talk about beauty for days. So I will spare you the really long post. 🙂 Have you rediscovered any oldies but goodies lately?

  1. Denim JacketDenim jackets are a wardrobe staple. They have been around for many years but seem to have been trending in the past few years. Can you believe that I haven’t owned one since I was a kid? I found this one at Forever 21 and I am so happy to be reacquainted with an old friend.
  2. Graphic T-Shirts– I used to have a love-hate relationship with graphic tees. Although I could see their appeal, I thought many of the slogans were cheesy. I found a few simple ones . And now that I have found my preference I just can’t stop wearing them.
  3. Faux Leather Leggings I purchased these leggings years ago however I was really shy to wear them. I traveled quite a bit in the spring and summer months and these leggings were really handy. They did not take up a lot space in my luggage, dressed up any outfit and were very comfortable.
  4. Nike Roshe One- These shoes aren’t new to me or the market but I have been loving them as of late. I have worn them during my recent travels, on casual days, etc. I haven’t been a sneaker wearer since middle school. It’s also nice to be reacquainted with this old friend. I love that I was able to customize my colorway on the Nike site.
  5. Chewing Gum– I know what you are thinking….. chewing gum? Let me explain, I love Chewing Gum- the show. It is a British sitcom available on Netflix. I learned about it in Paris  however I didn’t check it out until EvelynFromTheInternets mentioned it in one of her videos. The show is  about a quirky, restricted young lady living in London. The show follows her life of mishaps, funny interactions and life lessons. I love the show but I wouldn’t recommended if you are offended by the sight of bodily fluids.

My Fall Fashion Must Haves

Fall is here again (Yay)! Like many of you, I am in love with fall fashion. And I couldn’t let old man winter get here before I tell you about my must have fall clothing pieces. I will be featuring some of my favorite outfits in the coming weeks. Until then, below are my fall  fashion haves must haves. What would you add to the list?

  1. Leather/Faux Leather Jackets- Leather jackets are an essential part of everyone’s closet. I love how they instantly add edge to boring outfits.
  2. Chunky sweaters- Sweaters are a great way to keep warm in the cooler months.  However if you aren’t careful, they can cause you to look frumpy. I’ve discovered that the key is creating the correct proportions. Pairing chunky sweaters with form fitting bottoms helps your outfit to look more balanced.
  3. Coats/Cardigans/Dusters- As a Florida native, I never had an appreciation for coats. I didn’t invest a lot of time/money into them because I didn’t have a real need to. I have become obsessed with them recently. I think the neutrals are a must- black, brown, khaki, etc. However it is always fun to experiment with bold colors such as red, pastels, etc.
  4.  Totes- Totes are great year round however I find them to be quite handy during the cooler months. They allow enough space to carry bulkier items such as scarves, sweaters, hats, etc.
  5. Plaid- Plaid is a classic print that just screams fall. I love how versatile they are. You can wear them with jeans, skirts, leggings, etc.
  6. Loafers- These are great for those casual fall days. They are also comfortable to wear while shopping for the holidays.
  7. Hats- Im not typically a hat girl however I find them to be quite chic during fall. They are great because they help disguise a bad hair day and while keeping you warm. I like just about all styles including floppies, bowlers, fedoras, beanies, etc.
  8. Scarves- Scarves are an easy way to look chic while keeping warm. Everyone should have a few cozy scarves in their closet.
  9. Boots and booties- These are a must for this season. I love how versatile they are. They can be worn with pants, dresses, skirts, etc.
  10. Chambray shirts- Chambray tops are staples for all seasons however they look especially great with fall staples such as leggings, leather jackets, flannel shirts, etc.
